Entering the FHS Program

All FHS students take a core set of foundational courses spanning the continuum of prevention and intervention. However, students complete the FHS program through one of our three tracks: Fundamentals, Prevention Science, or Direct Service Intensive. By default, all FHS students are admitted into the Fundamentals (FUND) track and can declare the Prevention Science (PS) or Direct Service Intensive (DSI) track if they choose that option.

Students entering the FHS program can identify their career goals along a spectrum of services and pursue one of these five key pathways:

  1. Clinical
  2. Prevention Science
  3. Leadership & Policy
  4. Health & Public Health
  5. Community Engagement

For more information about these pathways, please see our Career Pathways in Family and Human Services handout.
